Accounting Manager

Our client is actively seeking an Accounting Manager who will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on GL Reconciliation, Month and Year-end Close, Expense reporting, and managing A/R and A/P specialists. The ideal candidate will lead the team in maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
BASE SALARY: $100K - $120K + Bonus
Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and direction to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable personnel to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Oversee the accurate and timely completion of major operational tasks, including month-end and year-end reports, adhering to Internal Control procedures.
• Analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties.
• Maintain accurate financial records, participate in audits, review journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and monitor the chart of accounts.
• Manage tax compliance initiatives, including Sales Tax, Income Tax, or Franchise Tax.
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy and report results to senior management.
• Assist in the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounting function.
• Support special projects as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Identify personnel needs, make hiring and termination recommendations, provide leadership and coaching, and manage performance.
• Establish department goals, plan activities, analyze variances, initiate corrective actions, and propose new approaches/methods.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of accounting operations experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and manage competing deadlines.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting teamwork and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Cost Accounting.
• CMA certification.
