Accounting Manager/Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
Secures financial operations by monitoring and approving financial processing, reporting, and auditing; supervising staff.
Accounting Manager/Supervisor Job Duties:
- Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity and quality standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
- Meets accounting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
- Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances, cash requirements/ weekly disbursements and cash receipts. Responsible for cash reporting requirements.
- Approves cash disbursements by verifying payments against invoices, authorizing checks/ACH payments and wire transfers.
- Communicates with vendors when required.
- Maintains invoice billing systems by reviewing monthly entries and reconciling billing details to the general ledger. Recommends updates and improvements to the billing system.
- Supports annual audit by providing information and answers to auditors
- Guides accounting bookkeeping staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Maintains fixed asset system by reviewing monthly entries, calculating depreciation and reconciling to the general ledger.
- Reconciles subscription bank accounts and prepares related journal entries.
- Reviews and monitors all corporate barter (trade) accounts.
- Maintains corporate credit card accounts.
- Meets weekly with the credit manager to review accounts receivable and collection activities.
- Acts as backup for all accounting staff positions.
- Prepares Monthly Financial Statements
- Special projects as required.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Accounting
- Proven work experience as Accounting manager/Supervisor
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards
- High attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines
- Ability to direct, supervise and work effectively with staff
