Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this role will be heavily involved in managing the daily accounting functions of the company across many facets of the team including revenue and expense reporting, ledger management, inventory management, month end close, assisting with accounts receivable/payable and collaborating with key business partners throughout the organization. This position requires an energic, hardworking individual that possesses excellent analytical skills, independent problem-solving capabilities with the ability to clearly communicate a plan of action and follow through on resolution.

Job Responsibilities:
Directly manage (2) Staff Accountants responsible for the financial accounting operations of as well as all account reconciliations and general account procedures.
Support the monthly close process including reviewing and booking entries, balance sheet account activity review and assisting with variance analysis.
Supervise and/or manage various day-to-day accounting functions around revenue and expense reporting.
Review balance sheet account reconciliations completed by staff accountants, identifying areas of risk. Perform more complex account reconciliations to be reviewed by Director of Accounting.
Directly manage Staff Accountants performance, setting goals, provide ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Ensuring compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
Maintain general ledger system integrity; Assist with future system conversion.
Assist with annual external and internal audits of financial statements and controls.
Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts.
Good judgement in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independently.
Comfortable supporting the needs of a rapidly growing organization and team.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant accounting experience required including managing and coaching a direct report of 1 or more accounting professionals
2+ years of restaurant/retail/hospitality experience highly desired
Accredited degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Management
Able to provide concise, accurate, and insightful written and verbal communication appropriate to the audience
Ability to work cross-functionally and with senior leaders as needed
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and overcome challenges
Comfortable meeting critical deadlines with high accuracy
Advanced Excel (including pivot tables, functions, charts, macros) experience required
