Role:
Organize and responsible for financial and regulatory reporting. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and National Credit Union Association. (NCUA). Assist Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

To assist with the monthly financial reporting, including the monthly ALCO packet, in accordance with GAAP and meet all deadlines.

To review and oversee the Accounts Payable process and ensure proper and appropriate general ledger accounts are correctly recorded. Include reviewing year end 1099-Misc tax reporting in accordance with IRC rules and regulations.

To review and ensure that the credit union records and general ledger are always current and in balance.

To assist the Controller with the quarterly regulatory reporting (5300 Call Report) in compliance with NCUA rules and regulations.

To prepare and complete account reconciliations of a more complex nature.

Complete monthly loan participation balancing and reporting.

To assist the Controller and CFO with the annual audits and NCUA examination functions.

To review all investment accounting related functions in accordance with ASC 320 (FASB 115). Review all month-end accrual entries and board investment reports.

Perform additional duties as assigned, include providing assistance and acting as back up to other accounting staffs.
Performance Measurements:
1.
To perform all duties and responsibilities including weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting, analysis and balancing of credit union records, accounts and general ledgers.

To ensure that the credit union's records and general ledger accounts are always in balance and current.
3.
To maintain a professional work environment and business appearance.
4.
To provide assistance to the Controller in specific job-related functions as defined as well as other assignments.
5.
To provide helpful, informative assistance to associate accountants within the department.
6.
To stay current and up to date of all procedural and compliance changes in all accounting areas.
7.
Additional duties include, but not limited to: review and post payroll, review daily cash position, daily review of Catalyst Corporate and Federal Reserve cash account reconciliation. And any special projects as assigned.

To stay current and inform Controller and CFO of any updates and/or changes to the 5300 Call Report.
9.
Identify and implement efficiencies for the various departments completed within the Accounting Department.

To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and all credit union policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Some supervisory skills preferred.
Other Skills
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Certified Public Accountant ("CPA") highly preferred. Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing financial data, ratios, trends and variances. Ability to handle multiple departmental problems, work and think independently, and prioritize various assignments and projects under time constraints.
