Accounting Financial Analyst

The Company

With branches located in Darien and Rowayton, Connecticut, the Bank offers the customer service and attentiveness of a community bank with the FinTech services of a larger bank. In support of significant growth anticipated in 2023, the Bank is seeking an Accounting financial analyst to join their team at their Darien, CT location. There is potential for a hybrid schedule after training is completed.

Position Overview

The accounting financial analyst will be responsible for analyzing current and past financial statements and assist with forecasting future performance of the Bank. The position will also require assisting with the preparation of financial reports and preparation of monthly deliverables to Board.

Responsibilities

• Complete financial statement analytics, MTD, QTD and YTD
• Assist in the preparation of the Bank’s annual forecasts and budgets
• Lead efforts in developing summarized loan and deposit activity reporting via working closely with IT to create meaningful reports for management and Board.
• Assist with preparation of annual financial statements that are subject to external audit
• Assist with compilation of data to complete quarterly Call Report
• Assist with the implementation of segment reporting
• Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of Accounting/Finance experience
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Prior experience with financial statement analyses and forecast modeling
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, ability to manipulate and reconcile large files
• Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter, problem solver, someone who thrives on delivering results
• Must be able to work independently while remaining a team player
• Willingness to “roll-up your sleeves” and to take on a variety of tasks
• CPA or CFA certification (in-progress)
