Accounting Analyst

This is an excellent opportunity for a solid accounting professional to gain exposure to the development of international accounting experience at a stable and multifaceted company! Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the group and gain further exposure to various countries and companies including intercompany accounting!  As a result, strong bilingual (English/Spanish) capability is a requirement.

Our client is a privately owned international company with a long history of expertise in the verification and certification of physical commodities traded internationally. Active in commodities that range from agricultural softs to fats & oils, they are there to protect the interests of clients that include international commodity trade houses, banks, producers, and end-users in various regions around the world.

Qualifications of the Accounting Analyst:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
• At least five years experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Self-driven with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Spanish language required

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst:
• Assist with the review for monthly and yearly financial closing for select entities
• Preparing financial statements and journal entries
• Oversee accounting and tax for select foreign entities (including intercompany-related tasks)
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Help with the documentation of local accounting processes
• Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
• Manage and oversee the Union process
• Other legal and admin-related responsibilities related to select entities
• Work on ad hoc projects when required
