The Accounting Clerk is responsible for answering phone calls, providing information pertaining to insurance claims, collecting payment, balancing cash drawer, working billing ques, completing reporting requirements, and assisting patients with financial assistance. The Accounting Clerk must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Assist customers with inquiries regarding charges and insurance billing. Must be able to learn the hospital EHR functions that pertain to their job duties. Work billing and insurance ques and update and correct information. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues. Complete monthly and quarterly reporting to Compdata. Obtain information to determine and assist with financial assistance. Other duties as assigned.
