POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Clerk assists with general administrative activities for the Finance Department with a focus on Accounts Payable. Primary accounting responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing incoming mail, preparing invoices for entry, routing unmatched invoices, filing, supplier support, and audit support. Further, this position provides general accounting support for Finance initiatives and projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage incoming Accounts Payable mail.
- Accountable for accurate review and preparation of supplier invoices.
- Responsible for supplier invoice coding and routing of unmatched invoices.
- Maintaining Accounts Payable filing.
- Provide supplier support regarding outstanding invoices.
- Provide audit support for Accounts Payable invoice related selections.
- Perform such other accounting or administrative tasks as may be required.
- Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent required.
