Job Description
This position encompasses several tasks within the accounting department and includes multiple finance and accounting functions. Individuals in this position will primarily focus on payroll, commissions, account reconciliations, and general ledger input. This position is entirely in-office, in our Rocky Hill, CT location.
Main Responsibilities
- Adhere to work schedule and be able to report to work on time and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift
- Accurately process weekly payroll, monthly sales commissions, and sales reports in multiple divisions
- Work with timekeeping system to ensure proper daily recording, approvals, and compliance with company policies
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts for multiple entities on a monthly basis
- Reconcile multiple cash accounts and record appropriate entries
- Prepare analysis of accounts as required
- General ledger input
- Upload customer/vendor files to an ERP system
- Work with multiple EDI systems
- Research and process chargebacks, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad checks, and similar items
- Assist with related special projects, as required
- Assist in monthly and annual closings
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies & Requirements
- Data entry skills
- General ledger entries
- Ability to use email programs such as Outlook to communicate internally and with Simoniz USA customers
- Ability to speak and communicate well with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and senior managers
- Complete required safety training, safely perform tasks, and follow safety policies
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

- May require walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day
- Bending and reaching for files
