Accounting Assistant

Overview: Reimagine Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our finance team as an Accounting Assistant with a focus on collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing accounts receivable. This role involves working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely collection of outstanding balances.

Responsibilities:

Collections Management:Initiate and maintain regular communication with clients to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate action.
Implement effective collection strategies to reduce outstanding balances and minimize bad debt risk.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address client inquiries.

Invoice Processing:Assist in the accurate and timely generation of invoices.
Verify billing details to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.

Payment Processing:Record and reconcile payments received against outstanding invoices.
Process incoming payments through various channels, including checks and electronic transfers.
Prepare and deposit checks, as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities.
Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status and collection efforts.
Collaborate with the accounting team to provide insights into cash flow projections.

Customer Relations:Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate the collection process.
Address client inquiries related to billing and payment status in a professional and timely manner.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field not necessary but strongly preferred
• Proven experience in collections or accounts receivable management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
