Accounting Assistant

Major Houston based homebuilder looking for a Accounting Assistant (Home Builder experience a plus) to join our accounting department.

Homebuilding Accounting experience preferred.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

• Post sales transactions (HUD-1)

• Maintain monthly accruals and recurring JE’s

• Prepare monthly Land Draws and required monthly and quarterly reporting

• Prepare the monthly financial reports and be responsible for timely and accurate reporting overall

• Complete monthly supplemental schedules

• Record cash receipts and reconcile earnest money deposits

• Monitor fixed asset additions, deletions, and reconciliations

• Prepare account reconciliations/intercompany

• Attend common cost and project marketing budget reviews

• Manage daily cash activity, wires, and transfers

• Process and approve land development invoices and draws

• Resolve accounting issues as they arise

• Follow-up on discrepancies and financial analysis

• Cash Flow reports

• Fixed Assets tracking and review

• Other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (related degree paths: Accounting, Business Management, Finance, etc).
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office 10-key by touch.
• Strong MS Excel expierence is a must.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work well as part of a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
