Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant is a critical support role for our firm’s accounting department and the firm in general. This role involves providing support to the accounting staff by running and emailing reports, updating new files in the accounting system, and maintaining our firm file room and files for the accounting office. Prioritization and attention to detail are both very important skills for this position. This role requires an individual who possesses the physical ability to perform activities such as carrying, stooping with, and lifting boxes of files. Additionally, this role requires an individual who will ask questions when appropriate and can work as part of a team as well as independently. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, dependable, adaptable, and flexible.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain file room

· Creation of new clients/matters

· Updates for clients/matters

· Assisting with projects

· Running/printing/emailing reports

· Clearing checks

· Scanning

· Copying

· Filing

· Binding reports

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record

· Basic computer skills

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

· Attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to operate office equipment, such as photocopiers, scanners and binding machines

· Ability to type 40wpm
