Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our accounting lead. Accounting Assistant responsibilities include managing petty cash, entering invoices and receipts into quickbooks, entering timesheets and reconciling financial transactions. If you have an Accounting degree and are interested in gaining experience in bookkeeping procedures, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help our Accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions. The job will be mainly remote however I will need to meet up with the Accounting Assistant periodically to give paperwork or direction so must live in the area or have means of transportation to meetup weekly or biweekly.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile financial statements and identify discrepancies
• Reconcile petty cash
• Process invoices and receipts
• Enter financial transactions into quickbooks
• Update spreadsheets and review for accuracy
• Maintain digital financial records
• Review and enter time sheets into quickbooks.
• Prepare quarterly and annual audits for outside parties such as insurance and government agencies
• Any other duties as required from the accountant

Skills

• Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Familiarity with finance regulations
• Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• Hands-on experience with Dropbox, MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Payclock)
• Organization skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• Bachelor of Business Admin - Accounting, Finance or relevant field preferred.
