Accounting Analyst, in Pittsburgh, PA
SUMMARY
Oriden, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is a renewable energy developer focused on developing utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects. The services we provide include project site origination, feasibility assessment, grid interconnection, design and engineering, community relations, environmental & technical studies, permitting, PPA origination, equipment procurement, project financing, construction management, ownership, and asset management of renewable energy projects. The team is funded by Mitsubishi Power Ltd., a Japanese multinational with operations globally and regional headquarters in Lake Mary, FL.
We are seeking an Accounting Analyst to support the Company's accounting activities. This position will assist with the full monthly and fiscal year accounting cycle. Key activities will range from accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and project-based accounting. This position will interact with Oriden's Project Development team to accomplish the accounting objectives.
This position requires a candidate whose education background is focused on energy, accounting, and/or business/finance from an accredited college or university. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of various financial statements and reports for projections and results for Oriden.
Preparation of maintenance of company policies and financial internal controls.
Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.
Preparation of cost and revenue analysis/management.
Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
Participate in internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
Support improvement of system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures.
Prepare external audit materials and external financial reporting and participate in external audit including audit/review for financials, federal/state taxes, and others.
Support Chief Financial Officer, Controller and Manager for review financial statements with management personnel.
Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) is required. Degrees in Accounting, Finance or Business Management would be a PLUS from four-year college or university, and two to four (2-4) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of ERP systems, and accounting, database, manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, word processing and email software.
