We are in search of an Accounting Analyst II or Accounting Analyst III to join our Controllers department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This full-time position reports to the Director Taxation and Reporting and is responsible for preparing and ensuring high quality reporting of the organization's financial information.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and one-time home office stipend after initial training period.
Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position is:
Level II $63,000 - $95,000; bonus at target is 10% of salary
Level III $69,000 - $119,000; bonus at target is 10% or 12% of salary depending on experience
Job Requirements
- Develop and monitor financial reports for analysis.
- Create ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
- Prepare general ledge journal entries.
- Contribute to an accurate and timely month-end of closing of financial records.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly internal and external financial reporting information.
- Provide technical guidance and research on accounting matters related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory guidance; work with others within the organization, as well as external auditors, to ensure proper accounting and reporting methods are followed.
- Participate in various accounting projects within the department.
- Prepare key spreadsheets and reports for compliance purposes.
- Perform back-up functions as needed to help ensure adequate segregation of duties and comply with internal controls over financial reporting.
- Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Generally, requires 3 or more years' relevant work experience
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to think critically and facilitate resolution to problems, or escalate appropriately
- Highly effective organizational and follow-through sills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
- Significant experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Effective collaboration skills and ability to work independently and with a team
- Experience communicating complex concepts to employees at all levels within the organization
Preferred Requirements
- Experience using accounting software systems
- CPA licensure or candidacy
- Experience with public accounting or financial institutions
