Accountant

Under general supervision of the Accounting Manager, this individual performs professional accounting activities requiring knowledge of the theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining and analyzing data and records of financial transactions. This individual is responsible for performing key accounting and financial reporting activities including intercompany reconciliations and global consolidation to support ensuring the completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions. In this position, the Accountant will operate out of Carlsbad, California, but will have the opportunity to work with others globally at various levels and will serve as the primary accountant for processes including U.S. bank reconciliations, global intercompany oversight including ensuring all material variances are identified and resolved timely
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily banking reconciliation for U.S. cash accounts (including but not limited to customer receipts account, accounts payable, and payroll) and bank payment processing for Accounts Payable and Treasury.
Primary point of contact for related bank communications and responsible to ensure payments are reviewed and released timely within the banking systems
Ownership of global month-end close intercompany processes to ensure that all significant intercompany transactions including payables, receivables, royalties and interest eliminate upon consolidation. Enhance intercompany relationships between global TaylorMade companies
Intercompany rebill program management including issuing appropriate credits and rebills to the regional finance teams in line with internal intercompany policies
Review and post journal entries from other finance team members, prepare journal entries in assigned areas including all intercompany transactions, cash transactions including banking fees and wire payments, intercompany royalties and various accruals and prepaids
Responsible for preparing weekly cash and check deposits and related journal entries
Prepare audit schedules to provide external auditors and assist in collecting and consolidating external auditor requested schedules from other departments, as required
Responsible for various balance sheet reconciliations including, but not limited to, cash, intercompany, bonus accruals, accrued expenses, inventory, prepaids, prompt pay, and deferred cost of goods sold.
Management of prepaid reconciliations including preparing amortization waterfall schedules and ensuring accurate reporting
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports and disclosures using Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS) consolidation software and other tools
Review global FCCS data to ensure completeness and accuracy of reported data including reconciliation of global intercompany balances and global inventory markup elimination
Provide input for and implement process/procedure improvements including redesign of processes to support new Oracle system changes and updates
Prepare monthly BS and P&L flux analysis and lead presentations of variance analysis within Finance team.
Review global BS and P&L flux analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of global reported financials
Participate in the global insurance program including working cross functionally on the annual renewal process, global recharges of insurance policies, monthly and annual (AOP) forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and monthly balance sheet reforecasting.
Subject matter expert on Visual Lease (ASC 842 software) responsible for global training and oversight of ongoing lease accounting including ensuring completeness and accuracy of ASC 842 impacts
Perform quarterly revenue cut off analysis for US and Canada legal entities by working with operations teams to obtain shipping documentation and ensure revenue cut off discrepancies are identified
Responsible for preparation and booking of general finance accruals by working with vendors to determine required month end accrual amounts
Assist Treasury with global cash flow forecasting and planning
Assist FP&A with balance sheet forecasting and planning
Perform other related responsibilities as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Fluent in English; ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing
Experience and knowledge of related spreadsheet applications (Excel and Word)
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills required including an ability to detect, correct and prevent errors
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Quick learner with an ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
2-4 years of recent related accounting experience
Any combination of Education, Experience and Training which would provide the level of skills, knowledge and abilities required
Experience and knowledge of applications such as Excel and Word
Oracle and FCCS / Hyperion / SmartView experience a plus
CPA a plus

Office environment, heavy computer use
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
Must be able to work extended hours as needed

We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
