Position Summary: As an Accountant you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, possess excellent organizational skills, and be proficient in using QuickBooks. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in QuickBooks.
- Record and reconcile bank transactions, credit card statements, and other financial data.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Manage customer invoicing and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and variances to budget.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide recommendations for improvement.
Tax Compliance:
- Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.
Audit Support:
- Support annual financial audits by providing accurate and well-organized documentation.
- Implement audit recommendations to improve internal controls and financial processes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function.
- Implement best practices to enhance the overall financial management of the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- CPA designation is a plus.
- QuickBooks experience required.
