Position Summary: As an Accountant you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, possess excellent organizational skills, and be proficient in using QuickBooks. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in QuickBooks.
  • Record and reconcile bank transactions, credit card statements, and other financial data.

• Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Manage customer invoicing and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Generate regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and variances to budget.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Tax Compliance:

  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.

• Audit Support:

  • Support annual financial audits by providing accurate and well-organized documentation.
  • Implement audit recommendations to improve internal controls and financial processes.

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function.
  • Implement best practices to enhance the overall financial management of the company.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• CPA designation is a plus.
• QuickBooks experience required.
