Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for assisting with the creation of accurate and timely financial records and assists the Senior Accountant with daily processes. The Accountant assists with all payroll functions. The Accountant will support all policies, goals and objectives of the company, and will represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Assists with daily, weekly, monthly, annual accounting duties
- Assists with accounting for fixed assets and tracking of project costs
- Preparation of fixed asset roll-forward schedule
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts
- Prepare weekly A/R aging report and assist with A/P and A/R functions
- Scan and file invoices and mail out weekly accounts payable checks
- Responsible for leading and processing overall payroll process
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll/benefits
- Responsible for the monthly bank reconciliation
Investor transactions, recordkeeping, relations:
- Process investor share/unit transfers according to company policy. Prepares resolution to approve share/unit transfers for board meetings
- Maintain and update investor database and records
- Coordinate mailings to investors (distribution checks, newsletters, financials, etc.). Responsible for activities related to annual shareholder meeting coordination
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with two years applicable work experience (may consider work experience in lieu of educational requirement
- Excellent computer skills including typing and data entry, necessary to perform the duties required for this job
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with accounting software required
Salary is $77-$90K with a competitive benefit package. Work hours are 8am-4:30pm. Position is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Lincoln (with an easy drive).
