The Accountant is responsible for accurately performing tasks supporting the operations of the accounting department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconciles general ledger accounts and performs general ledger analysis.
- Recording and documenting accurate journal entries.
- Documents processes and procedures as performed.
- Provides assistance to automate certain daily accounting functions.
- Coordination with the external and internal audit.
- Preparation of and assistance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Assistance with problem solving and process improvement for needs throughout the organization impacting the accounting function.
- Responsible for preparation and maintenance of fixed asset management, lease accounting, mortgage accounting, among other areas.
- Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Susser Bank.
- Perform duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
- Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge and continues professional development through training as applicable.
- Demonstrate courteous, pleasant, self-motivated, and dependable behavior. Maintaining a professional environment in both appearance and conduct.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred (or actively pursuing progress towards completion of degree in preferred fields).
- Experience in accounting (including internships) preferred.
- Prior banking experience preferred but not required.

- Proficient using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products. Willingness and ability to learn systems utilized in the Accounting department.
