Accountant

Position Summary
The Accountant is responsible for accurately performing tasks supporting the operations of the accounting department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Reconciles general ledger accounts and performs general ledger analysis.
• Recording and documenting accurate journal entries.
• Documents processes and procedures as performed.
• Provides assistance to automate certain daily accounting functions.
• Coordination with the external and internal audit.
• Preparation of and assistance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Assistance with problem solving and process improvement for needs throughout the organization impacting the accounting function.
• Responsible for preparation and maintenance of fixed asset management, lease accounting, mortgage accounting, among other areas.
• Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Susser Bank.
• Perform duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
• Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge and continues professional development through training as applicable.
• Demonstrate courteous, pleasant, self-motivated, and dependable behavior. Maintaining a professional environment in both appearance and conduct.
• Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred (or actively pursuing progress towards completion of degree in preferred fields).
• Experience in accounting (including internships) preferred.
• Prior banking experience preferred but not required.
