Join the Accounting Team as an Accountant III! As the Accountant III you work closely with Accounts Payable, Grant Accounting, and the Controller to reconcile financial statement accounts, process receipts, prepare and post journal entries and assist in month end close. In addition to these routine tasks, the general ledger accountant is responsible for general ledger maintenance, assisting and evaluating the effectiveness of the internal control systems, assisting with internal and external audits, and producing financial reports for programs. You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
You have three (3) years of experience preparing financial statements and general ledger maintenance
You have a CPA or CPA candidate.

You have knowledge and experience with computerized general ledger systems, spreadsheet design, database management and reporting.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You have fund and government contract accounting experience is desirable.
You have the ability to research Office of Management Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance, understand, and apply complex federal, state, local, and other laws, regulations and guidelines to various accounting, payroll, and grant related functions and procedures.
You are detailed-oriented and proven results in accuracy.
You utilize sound judgment and decision making skills, solve problems quickly and effectively, meet multiple deadlines and to work effectively under pressure in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
You have advanced Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups etc.).
What you Deliver
You will ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as grant requirements.
You will establishes regular procedures and performs scheduled analysis of general ledger balance sheets such as cash and clearing accounts, liability accounts, and inventory accounts.
You will perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
You will exercise discretion and security in order to maintain confidentiality and protect access to electronic accounting, payroll and banking systems.
You will prepares journal entries; performs bank reconciliations, cash, inter-fund transfers and reconciles general ledger accounts.
You will manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and work closely with the Development Team to ensure that revenues and receivables in Financial Edge are reconciled with Rasier's Edge data at any given time.
You will participates in and contributes to the annual fiscal budget process and financial projections throughout fiscal year.
You will ensure proper upload of budget into general ledger system.
You will perform other duties as assigned.
