Accountant II Starting Salary Range:
- $62,918 - $67,021 / year
Accountant II Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completes integral aspects of accurate financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Completes complex accounting activities including lease accounting and accounting for repossessed properties (REO)
- Supports management by coordinating month-end close activities, call report preparation, and oversight of accounts payable processes.
- Monitors regulations and communicates/documents changes in regulations to ensure compliance in all reporting and reporting processes.
- Conducts accounting and regulatory research; assists Accounting Associates in applying technical rules of accounting.
- Prepares and posts journal entries and completes reconcilement of assigned general ledger accounts utilizing automated reconciliation software. Researches and identifies details regarding outstanding entries.
- Proposes enhancements to work methods or procedures in order to improve process efficiency.
- Assists with complex accounting activities related to financial, tax, and regulatory audits utilizing knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Documents and monitors internal controls and procedures in support of company objectives.
- Completes ad-hoc projects and extensive research as requested by Accounting management.
Accountant II Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years prior experience in an accounting role with similar experience.
- Prior financial institution experience preferred.
- Experience working with large databases preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, a degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
Hours:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
