Accountant & Business Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Accountant & Business Analyst to join our team in our Sacramento office.
The Accountant & Business Analyst will assist the Ecological Services Controller in performing routine accounting processes and financial analysis related to the business.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develop business acumen necessary to liaise with business as a resource in usage of analytical tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
-Develop proficiency, and provide analytical guidance as business, financial and technology systems become increasingly intertwined.
-Execute analysis required to effectively evaluate and manage existing and potential projects. Communicate any deficiencies to appropriate controllers-managers.
-Assist Ecological Services Controller and accountant in period close-out processes and reporting.
-Train as back-up for all accounting processes.
-Prepare and maintain Project Schedules (proforma, and other summary schedules) for Ecological Services, TWC and all associated Joint Ventures. This includes a summary of all projects including, sales, calculation of cost of goods sold, total capital cost and all related activities.
-Identify exceptions and problematic trends. Work to provide solutions to these issues by helping to build a culture of Continuous Improvement. Initiate solutions to be submitted through GrowEx.
-Evaluate each transaction to understand the true business relationship and any inter-divisional impacts that will be realized within Westervelt.
-Assist in the design and implementation of project approval and tracking procedures.
-Assist Ecological Services accounting staff as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to extract, review and analyze large volumes of data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with competence and little direct supervision
Preferred Experience:
- CPA certification
- Auditing experience
- Cost accounting experience
