Form of workApplicant will be responsible for computing, classifying and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of the organization are accurate. The accountant will also performs routine financial calculations and general ledger duties. The accountant may also check the accuracy of calculations performed by other employees, prepare and analyze budgets, and perform general bookkeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly account statements and book journal entries in QuickBooks to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and forecasts
- Process and record expenses
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
- Follow company's established accounting process
- Create and maintain budgets
- Daily Stock portfolio maintenance. Enter trades & produce daily reports
- Update Yahoo Finance watch list
Qualifications:
- Expertise with QuickBooks
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced computer skills in Excel
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Absolute attention to detail, excellent organization and time-management skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations
- Able to adapt to changes in work environment and manage competing demands; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to multi-task in an unusually fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
- Dog friendly office; applicant must be able to work with and around dogs
Education Requirements:
- BA Degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years experience in accounting or related field
Compensation details: 75000-85000 Yearly Salary
