Accountant

Burkentine is growing and looking for an Accountant to join our dynamic and talented team! The Accountant is responsible for entering journal entries, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, as well as other accounting functions. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Requirements

• Comply with all company, local, state, and federal accounting, and financial regulations.
• Compile, analyze and report financial data.
• Create and enter journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Create periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
• Present data to managers, investors, and other entities.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform audits of company expenses, general ledger accounts, job costs, and vendor accounts, and work with internal and external resources to resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments on ad hoc projects to ensure needed information is provided in a proper and timely manner.
• Compile information for, and work with external accountants on audit, review, and tax matters.
• Remain informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
• Aide management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience in construction or real estate development highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Must be reliable and able to work in an office environment.
• Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes.
