Job Description:The mission of the Division of Pharmacy Services parallels the ultimate purpose of the health center: "Leadership in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer and associated diseases through excellence, vision and cost-effectiveness in patient care, outreach programs, research and education". As a support service of the hospital, our primary existence and function are based on a multi-disciplinary team approach in all phases of development (geriatric, adult and pediatric), with dedication and concern. The professional staff as well as the technical/support staff performs with the highest regard for the patients they serve by constantly considering cost-containment once therapeutic efficiency and safety is established.
The Pharmacy Department at MSK uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model.
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Buyer to work out of MSK's Main Campus Location
You will:
- Submit Daily POs for drug ordering for all sites to wholesalers/vendors.
- Send suggested orders via EDI into wholesaler portal
- Responsible with follow-up with MSK staff and/or vendors to ensure timely delivery of drugs
- Work in collaboration with other Pharmacy Buyers, Materials Management Staff, Accounts Payable, Pharmacy Sourcing/Procurement dept and Vendors to resolve any potential shipment/invoice discrepancies or issues.
- Assist with drug BIDs in collaboration with Pharmacy Sourcing
- Manage drug recalls
- Managing drug shortages and assisting with sourcing drug on shortages
- Assist with managing and review of pricing consistency across MSK sites
- Maintain and assist with inter-interinstitutional drug transfers
- Maintaining ordering templates as needed
- Ordering and approval of Controlled Substances.
- Complete required annual proficiency assessments.
- Maintain pharmacy files and records as required by MSKCC policies.
- Show skill with appropriate pharmacy equipment, systems, and technology
- Adhere to State and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy managers
You have:
- Hospital experience preferred.
- NYS Pharmacist License/Registration required
- Pharmaceutical purchasing experience preferred
- Epic Willow Inventory experience preferred
- Strong computer & interpersonal skills
Hours:
- Hybrid work/home (Monday - Friday), variable hours (day/evening shift)
