Job Description
We are currently seeking an Account Manager to be part of the Strategic Accounts team with responsibility for growing profitable business, strengthening the customer relationship, and communicating the voice of the customer within the organization regarding commercial and market needs.
Summary
As a self-driven Account Manager, you will be responsible to achieve profitable sales targets and market expansion to support strategic growth plans within your territory. This will include managing customer relationships while planning, coordinating, and executing all sales efforts to achieve objectives. You will also obtain a portfolio share while maintaining a professional relationship with each customer and working closely with Danfoss Business Units.
We're looking for candidates within the Midwest (could potentially accept other locations dependent on skill set). This position can be hybrid or fully remote.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
  • Develops and implements targeted growth plans, fostering strong and diverse customer relationships to surpass set objectives.
  • Proactively identifies and nurtures new sales opportunities through effective management and utilization of our CRM system.
  • Develop account strategies for relevant accounts as agreed with sales management and BU teams.
  • Execute by developing timeline, milestones, goals, KPI's and actions while involving all relevant stakeholders internally and externally, e.g. customers' engineering departments, BU stakeholders, etc.
  • Recognizes and addresses diverse customer needs, offering tailored solutions aligned with our business unit's goals and values.
  • Prepare and create quotes in line with the valid relevant guidelines.
  • Cultivates robust and inclusive relationships with stakeholders across existing accounts, valuing diversity and inclusion in every interaction.
  • Collaborates closely with internal teams to ensure seamless support and communication, catering to the unique needs of each customer.
  • Establishes significant connections with key decision-makers at all levels of customer organizations, embracing diversity and inclusivity in our partnerships.
  • Promotes current solutions and innovations, by showcasing the diverse applications and benefits of our offerings to maximize market penetration.
  • Initiate and orchestrate focused actions to increase customer satisfactions where necessary (e.g. Quality, Delivery) involving the accountable parts of the organization.
  • Participate in cross-functional and internal projects.

Required (basic) qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Engineering or relevant years of industry experience.
  • Strong academic background in Mechanical/Fluid Engineering or equivalent studies.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience gained in similar roles, particularly technical sales and knowledge in the designated product and relevant industry sector.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working with CRM and / or Sales Force.
  • Technological capabilities and understanding to communicate in today's business environment.

  • Ability to influence high-level engagement and relationship building, Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player.
  • Ability to listen, gain trust, and bring to closure project plans, open issues and sales opportunities with customers.
  • Ability to utilize sales processes to uncover customer objections/concerns required to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong process discipline that enables pipeline and revenue development.
