Access Intake Clinician II – South Kitsap - Full-Time
Hiring Range: $32.53 - $40.67 per Hour
$3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking an Access Intake Clinician II to play a vital role in connecting adults and children, along with their parents or guardians, to essential mental health coordination, screening, assessment, and treatment recommendations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Client Triage: Assess individual requests for service, offering immediate referrals to crisis services for urgent cases, conducting crisis interventions for non-emergent clients, and providing information and referral sources for those who do not meet entrance criteria.
- Service Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of KMHS services and their criteria for access, as well as awareness of community services outside of KMHS, Medicaid eligibility, the Medicaid application process, and the Washington Health Benefit Exchange to assist clients effectively.
- Clinical Assessments: Conduct clinical interviews and intake assessments, adhering to diagnostic guidelines and medical necessity criteria to determine provisional diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Documentation: Complete all required agency documentation accurately and in a timely manner, using collaborative documentation in our electronic health record.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with the Access Team and staff from all agency departments to ensure a smooth transition for individuals who meet criteria.
- Professional Growth: Pursue professional development opportunities, staying informed about current trends in community mental health.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).
Certification as a Mental Health Professional
LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS).
Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.
LICENSURE: WA state license in social work or mental health field.
