The Vehicle Safety & Emissions Technician holds a valid State Motor Vehicle Inspector license and performs state emissions and safety inspections in accordance with state motor vehicle inspection regulations. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Position Overview
The Vehicle Safety & Emissions Technician holds a valid State Motor Vehicle Inspector license and performs state emissions and safety inspections in accordance with state motor vehicle inspection regulations. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What you'll be doing
- Perform safety and emissions inspections as outlined in state regulations.
- Comply with all record retention requirements.
- Complete "drive cycles" to clear codes on reconditioned vehicles.
- Complete multi-point inspection on arriving inventory to include fuel level, safety features, drivability test, and proper display of all company and state disclosures.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized service center and facilitate a safe and secure working environment.
- Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and external vendors.
What the Job Requires

- Must possess and maintain a motor vehicle inspector's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles in New York State.
- Must have at least one year of experience repairing motor vehicles or a high school or vocational school diploma in vocational automotive trades or college certification of successful completion of first year of course toward an AAS degree in automotive technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
- Must have no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years or DUI.
- Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers, and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Possess the energy and drive to accomplish goals, meet deadlines, and find solutions
- Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check and drug screen
