Description

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Instruction, Coordinators ensure smooth operations of the Student Success Center, assist with administrative duties, monitor tutors, faculty & students in the center, conduct workshops and complete proactive outreach.
May work non-traditional hours to include nights.

Typical Duties



  • Guide students through educational issues such as navigating the online environment, identifying support resources, and cultivating good study habits.
  • Maintain assigned hours in the designated Student Success Center (SSC).
  • Track student activity using various software (i.e., tools).
  • Contribute to the evaluation of tutors.
  • Provide low-level administrative support and oversee the record keeping of center visitors.
  • Create and conduct various SSC workshops.
  • Participate in new student orientation.
  • Conduct outbound calls for student outreach regarding student retention (i.e., Star Project, tutor referrals, academic alerts, NSO) in support of college initiatives.
  • Update SSC web page.
  • Create videos and other materials for workshops, classroom presentations, new student orientation, etc.
  • Conduct classroom visits to provide outreach to at-risk students.
  • Monitor work-study and tutor positions in the evening.
  • Maintain center standards in accordance with the philosophy and procedures of the Student Success Centers and the learning-centered college.
  • Uphold all college and Student Success Center policies.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Maintain tutor schedule and ensure accuracy in the schedule.
  • Maintain supplemental instruction schedule and ensure accuracy in the schedule.
  • Planning, implementation, and monitoring the effectiveness of an embedded tutoring program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Instruction.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associate Degree or higher in a relevant field strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the functions of the position.
