Position Schedule: 5 days weekly, typically Sunday – Thursday, including rotating Wednesday 12pm – 8:30pm and (1) day per week 10am – 6:30pm to support After School Programming
Ministry Responsibilities
- Prepare Weekend Service curriculum and related supplies.
- Develop Kids Missions curriculum and implement a quarterly teaching in all Kids programs, including Mid-week, After School Program, and Weekend Services.
- Assist in execution of ACAC Kids discipleship program in alignment with ACAC’s overall discipleship program as led by the Adult Life Ministries Pastor; Discipleship programs include Child Dedication, Salvation, and Baptism.
Volunteer & Safe Place for Kids Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, and appreciate volunteers for all Kids’ ministries, including mid-week, After School Program, Weekend services, One to One, and childcare.
- Assist Campus Pastors with Kids volunteer recruitment and development.
- Conduct ACAC Kids “Open House” at least annually to showcase the department and share volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain department Volunteer Playbooks.
- Serve as Safe Place for Kids Coordinator for volunteers and staff, serving as first line of support for all questions related to alleged abuse and mandated reporting.
- Schedule and lead Safe Place for Kids training sessions for volunteers and staff; Coordinate staff training with Church Administrator.
- Schedule and coordinate Mandated Reporting training for volunteers and staff; Coordinate staff training with Church Administrator.
- Assist the Kids Director in developing volunteer structure.
General Department Responsibilities
- Work according to ACAC’s Culture Keystones with a heart to continually develop in all keystones.
- Participate daily in welcoming and connecting volunteers, staff, and participants to the After School Program.
- Plan, execute, and participate in all ACAC Kids large events.
- Plan, execute, and participate in all ACAC Kids large group volunteer training meetings.
- Plan, execute, and participate in all ACAC Kids ministry specific parent meetings, including Mid-week, After School Program, and Weekend ministries.
- Participate and earn certification in annual State Food Program training; Serve as staff monitor as needed.
- Become proficient and utilize all ACAC sponsored software tools, including Church Management, Facility Scheduling, Time Management, Expense Reporting, Emergency Communication, and other software as implemented by ACAC or ACAC Kids department.
- Participate in department meetings, monthly staff chapel meetings, and other meetings as directed by department Director.
- Pray with congregants, staff, and volunteers as needed.
- Provide one-on-one and group spiritual direction.
- Teach the Bible.
Required Qualifications
- Model spiritual leadership and lifestyle consistent with the beliefs of ACAC.
- Prioritize Weekend service attendance on a regular and consistent basis.
- Ability to work one (1) day per week 10am – 6:00pm in support of After School Programming and rotating every 3rd Wednesday from 12pm – 8:30pm in support of Mid-week Programming.
- Maintain confidence.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient technical skills in Microsoft 365.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three-to-five years of ministry experience.
- Prior experience in an urban education or program setting.
- Working knowledge of Customer Resource Management (CRM) or similar software tools.
