911 Dispatcher

Responsibilities:
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and field personnel
- Gather relevant information from callers and accurately enter it into the computer system
- Dispatch appropriate personnel to respond to incidents based on location, urgency, and nature of the call
- Maintain accurate records of all calls, incidents, and actions taken
- Coordinate with other agencies and departments as needed for mutual aid or support
- Handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure
- Resolve conflicts and diffuse tense situations between callers or field personnel

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in dispatching or a related field preferred, but will train
- Experience in data entry and computer systems preferred, but will train
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to type quickly and accurately
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations and make informed decisions
- Conflict management skills to handle difficult callers or situations effectively

Certificate:
- A valid dispatcher certification is preferred but not required

Pay incentives along the way with on the job training. Must meet criteria to achieve incentive. Start out parttime with high potential of full time status. Some travel will be required
