Position Summary: The PRODUCTION SUPERVISORis a management-level employee who oversees a team of production staff within assigned areas. His/her core responsibilities are managing assigned staff, review of production processes, making sure current processes are efficient as possible without sacrificing employee safety. This individual will actively participate in all continuous improvement initiatives.

Supervision: Production Lines / Mixing & Pre-mixing areas
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities ensuring work assignments are accomplished, meet production goals and scheduling demand.
- Analyze production data to determine open opportunities for improvement, root cause, and capabilities to meet new opportunities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve downtime issues, while working with maintenance personnel to increase uptime.
- Enforce company policies and guidelines.
- Provide guidance and training to ensure company policies and procedures, including safety, GMP, are complied with, and that plant work rules are implemented.
- Conduct training for new employees on GMP, safety and other topics as assigned.
- Assist workers by offering personal growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review production needs, goals and seek resolution for open opportunities. Engage staff to problem solve and identify ideas of improvement; utilize CI and lean manufacturing tools to evaluate and implement improvements.
- Maintain operations data and prepare reports, while evaluating production metric results.
- Address violations, document as required, communicate with, and seek support from the production manager, human resources, or management.
- Implement cost-saving strategies and techniques.
- Create continuous communication across all value streams ensuring daily production is accomplished.
- Ensure that production plans are completed on time.
- Contacting maintenance for repair issues.
- Work with employees on how to achieve optimal output.
- Ability to resolve conflicts between manufacturing employees.
- Create production reports.
- Communicating with and assisting other departments as needed.
- Daily communication with the previous and upcoming shift supervisor.
- Participation during the shift handoff meeting.
- Evaluate the condition of production equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all workers.
- Compile and analyze production records.
- Participation during all continuous improvement efforts being worked on.
- Conduct weekly Team meetings regarding safety, quality, efficiencies etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills/ Abilities:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Effective time management.
o Demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
o Ability to work effectively with many plant personnel, ranging from hourly employees to senior management.
o Bilingual in Spanisha Plus
o Computer savvy – Microsoft Office Suite
o Independent, self-sufficient with a keen sense of urgency.
o Thorough understanding of food manufacturing
o Lean manufacturing background preferred
o Strong analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills
o Excellent organizational & time management skills
o Knowledge of SAP a Plus
o Knowledge of Alchemy a Plus
Required Education & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in business management/ administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or another related field.
o 3-5 years of manufacturing supervision experience with production floor experience; food manufacturing experience preferred.
