Job Summary:
The Accounting & HR Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial and human resource operations of a non-profit organization in Miami. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including payroll management, overseeing employee benefits, and handling various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Handle various aspects including donor receivables, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Daily Financial Transactions: Manage daily deposits (checks, cash, credit), and ensure proper batch processing in the general ledger system.
Payroll Administration: Process payroll ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Employee Benefits Management: Handle various employee benefits like retirement plans, medical benefits, and accruals.
Human Resource Duties: Manage the employee manual, office holidays, employee reviews, and board requirement management.
Annual Filings and Compliance: Take charge of state business filings, retirement forms, census information, and 1099s.
Credit Card and Expense Management: Process credit cards and reconcile statements.
Supply and Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory management of office supplies, including printer and copier essentials.
General Ledger and Audit Support: Assist in monthly reconciliations and prepare for annual audits.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate accounting records and manage document retention and destruction as per requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and numeric data entry.
- Experience in handling high-volume transactions with a detail-oriented and organized approach.
- Independent worker with effective communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Relevant experience in the non-profit sector or an accounting department.
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field with at least one year of accounting experience, or three years of experience in an accounting department.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, UKG, Certify, and NetSuite is advantageous.
