2Nd Shift Wastewater Treatment Operator

*This is a 2nd Shift position

Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years’ related experience and/or training minimum; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Technical degree within Wastewater Treatment preferred.

· Must be reliable and dependable

· Must be adaptable to change

· Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safe and compliant operation of the Industrial Wastewater Treatment system.
• Monitor control panels and adjust valves manually to regulate flow as required.
• Observe variation in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings and test results.
• Collect samples and conduct laboratory tests.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation as required.
• Respond to and correct situations causing alarms in the WWT area.
• Keep a daily log-book for water usage, pH neutralization, pH chrome, pH cyanide I and II, ORP cyanide I and II, etc.
• Calibrate and clean probes as required.
• Record and take samples of all effluent discharges to be reported to the CT DEEP for DMR's.
• Clean clarifier weekly or as necessary.
• Receive deliveries of WWT chemicals as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
