NEW YORK CITY Midtown-Based Pet company is looking for a Print Production Artist.
THIS IS AN ON-SITE IN OFFICE POSITION.
You must be experienced with the practices and procedures of Print Production. You will be working in a studio environment with other designers to ensure high-quality, on-schedule and flawless deliverables. Experience with production packaging and working with die lines is a must. Attention to detail not only as it pertains to printer files and design, but file-naming conventions and server organization is essential. Knowledge of Mechanical preparation for printing and good communication skills to collaborate (electronically) with overseas factories are a key component to this position—as well as communicating with factories through the lifecycle of projects.
As a detail-oriented designer, you are responsible for the production of packaging mechanicals, displays and collateral materials. You need to be well organized and able to manage multiple projects at once. Attention to every detail is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Production mechanical work related to package design, manuals, store displays and collateral throughout the entire file production process
· Artwork/Final File Release to Vendors/Factories
· Review project artwork mechanicals for release to print to oversee factories
· Coordinate and correspond with factories
· Work under Brand Director and with Creative Department—prepare print ready files
· Maintaining brand continuity—Package layout, taking existing elements and apply to expanding product line, displays or collateral material.
· Help maintain an organize server, folder organization, file naming, master logos and resource folders
· Possesses knowledge of packaging forms and materials.
· Assist with creation of material specifications
· Assist with review of incoming proofs
· Offers comping and manual material production support
· Participates in the team’s workload and daily schedule
· Assist with presentation assets, comp packages, etc.
· Understanding QA and legal package requirements and apply to packaging
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· 5-7 years of experience in related role as Production Artist / Production Designer
· Highly skilled in Adobe Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe CS, Acrobat, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Strong Graphic Design skills and good eye for composition
· Excellent typography skills
