ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interns will provide assistance with the following duties:

• Assist in producing 2D character animations and graphics for web, television, interactive, and
  print projects.
• Collaborate with Lead Animator, Art Director, Designers, and other Creative & Engagement staff on creative projects.
• Maintain production best practices and technical standards as outlined by the Lead Animator and Art Director.
• Assist in creating storyboards and animatics based on script requirements laid out by the content team and scriptwriters.
• Assist with video compositing, editing and sound design.
• Participate and communicate effectively in group brainstorming and critique sessions.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must have completed at least two (2) years of college
• Must be seeking a degree in Fine Arts, Computer Animation, Advanced Drawing Skills or other related degree program
• Experience (thru school projects, Internship or employment) with 2D or 3D animation and production software including: Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Animate, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge and understanding of storyboarding, character design, concept art production, and other pre-production requirements.
• Must have a strong interest in producing content for child-focused educational programming.
• Ability to draw and adapt to other drawing styles and designs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information.

SALARY:

Although internships are unpaid positions, each intern will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and hands-on experience in the position of his/her choosing and will receive academic credit through an approved program at his/her college or as a volunteer. Interns will be reimbursed for parking or public transportation expenses.

HOURS and SCHEDULE:

The Animation Intern is required to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM., Monday - Friday, during Fall, Spring or Summer Semester Programs. Interns will be excused to attend internship program functions.
