Plus, excellent fringe benefits QUALIFICATIONS:Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a related field Or Associate's degree and four (4) years of experience in the field Or Five (5) years of work experience associated with more than two below-listed discipline(s) ·                     Electrical Fundamentals ·                     Electronic Troubleshooting ·                     Electronic Communications ·                     Calibration ·                     Data Acquisition ·                     Data Analysis Preferred: Higher education/teaching NCCER-certified instructor or related certification in the electronics field Additional Eligibility Requirements: Valid driver's license Professional Licensure/Specialized certificate(s) Classification: Exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: Full-time, 9 months Accountable for 33 hours per week (includes teaching time and office hours for students) Teaches 15 equated load May require a flexible schedule Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work productively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds Strong facilitation skills Ability to relate well to learners of different ages and multi-cultural backgrounds Demonstrate commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college Ability to conduct successful industry advisory meetings and other program-related meetings Must be capable of maintaining an organized and industry-relevant program learning environment Manage program-related project deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Work Environment: Inside office and classroom environment with normal noise and lighting levels Outside instructional area Expected working conditions for manufacturing environments in Arizona Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Prolonged periods of standing May lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy (at least 25 pounds) amounts of weight Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist Travel: May be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation Note: Wellton Manufacturing Training Center and other AWC campus locations Benefit eligible A personal vehicle for travel is needed Completion of EDU 250 - The Community College, or college designated alternative course/training, within one (1) year of employment, or transcript indicating successful completion of a similar course at another college Grant Funded Position (DoED-Electrical Technicians) - subject to continued funding SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: Provides instructional leadership in developing, maintaining, and delivering all aspects of the Electronics program activities, provides instruction, maintains adequate professional standards and practices, and mentors’ students in the electronics technician program. Faculty members, both full-time and adjunct, are involved in continuous assessment and engaged in expanding teaching methodologies and delivery systems to improve student academic success and retention. Full-time faculty will follow an 80-10-10 model, where they actively participate in departmental/divisional meetings and activities, in student recruitment/retention/advisement activities, in community/partner relationships, and in activities that promote and support the district-wide academic goals of the local populations and the College. TYPICAL DUTIES:Teaching Responsibility: Serves students. Teach 15 equated load hours/semester (to include material and preparation time); develop and grade exams and instruments to evaluate student learning and progress; submit student grades/progress as required by the programs/policies of the Instruction area. Maintain a minimum of 10 office hours/week/semester load and engage in direct interaction with students in a formal learning environment. Remain current in the discipline, updating course content when appropriate. Maintain standard syllabus/outline for each course in accordance with program/procedures. Update course syllabus/outline annually. Working with the CEO, Chief of Staff, Associate Dean of Reskilling and Technology, Director of Manufacturing, and departmental faculty, develop and implement processes and tools for assessment of teaching and student learning outcomes incorporating appropriate methodologies and technology. In collaboration with colleagues and the Director of Program and Assessment and Curriculum and Articulation, the Vice President of Learning Services, and under the guidance of the Associate Dean, develop a system for evaluation of teaching and learning including course competency expectations and student outcome measures. Working with the Associate Dean, incorporate results of assessments to modify instruction and materials in general education. Instruct courses within the broader electrical curriculum as deemed appropriate by the CEO, Chief of Staff, Associate Dean of Reskilling, or Director of Manufacturing. College Responsibility: Collaborating with the Director of Assessment by identifying student-leaning outcomes; developing assessment processes and tools; incorporating results to enhance/modify instruction and material, degree program, course cluster, and/or certificate program as appropriate. Working and coordinating with Student Services by actively participating in student recruitment, retention, and advisement activities and programs. Participating in institutional functions such as but not limited to, college committees, task forces, Articulation Task Force (ATF), club sponsorships, facilitation of advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and associate faculty. Participation may be directed by the CEO, Chief of Staff, Associate Dean of Reskilling & Technology or the Director of Manufacturing. Maintain 10 positive interaction hours/week. Attend graduation ceremonies/nurse pinning ceremonies. Working with colleagues, serving as a resource for faculty members. Community Responsibility: Participate in professional developmental activities outside the College, such as but not limited to, technical training, community events, boards, clubs, and conferences. Coordinate such participation with the Director, Associate Dean, or Vice President as appropriate. Serve on local and state advisory committees as directed by the Vice-President, Associate Dean, or Director. Additional Responsibility: Participate in adjunct faculty recruitment. Serve as a resource for adjunct faculty. Budget for equipment, materials, and supplies to support courses of primary responsibility. Work with regional electronics/manufacturing employers to help develop and support intern, research, and work experiences for students at all levels. Work with Departmental Faculty to develop and implement Open Educational Resources (OER) content. Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
