Job Description
United Way of Greater Cleveland is a “Flexible First” organization. “Flexible First” means that we embrace a hybrid model that allows employees to work both remotely and at our existing office. Employees will regularly work at our existing office for approximately 10 to 80 percent of their time each month based on business/operational needs, and the rest of the time they may work from a remote physical location of their choice within a reasonable commuting distance from the office which must be identified to the organization in advance. Human Resources and Hiring Manager will set expectations on the employee’s preferred time in office with consideration to business/operational needs. UWGC has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.

Purpose of Position:
Researches, organizes, summarizes and classifies information on government, nonprofit, and select for-profit organizations for entry into the United Way 2-1-1 community resource database. The database is used by 2-1-1 Navigation Specialists to connect callers to the organizations that provide the requested services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Essential Job Functions/Key Accountabilities:
2-1-1 Community Resource Content
- Implements strategies for obtaining resource information and entering or updating the 2-1-1 community resource database. Responsible for ensuring information is accurate, updated and indexed consistently to 2-1-1 standards.
- Works in collaboration with the Manager, Community Resource Content in developing and implementing processes to ensure database and classification index are up to date and that systems are consistent and are easy to navigate for the end user.
- Utilizes the 211 LA County Taxonomy of Human Services classification systems to accurately index database records.
- Responsible for conducting quality control measures to ensure accuracy of work; ensures data is updated annually and that seasonal programs are updated on a timely basis.
- Develops network relationships with government agencies, community and non-profits or for profits to assist in maintaining awareness of and or to support the resources referral systems and act as valuable resource for prompt notification of changes or services that will affect the program or United Way.
- Follows basic protocols of the field of Information and Referral, as defined by Inform USA. Strives to obtain (and maintain throughout employment) the Community Resource Specialist – Database Curator (CRS - DC) certification.
- Maintains knowledge of health and human service programs, participates in team meetings, completes reading, training and other assignments or requirements.

Qualifications:
- Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1 year of database, research, writing, social work, library science, or other relevant experience.

This position is a remote / in-office hybrid. Work location is split between remote and in-office.
