The Maintenance Porter performs daily cleaning activities and multi-craft functions, which may include non-technical electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, custodial, landscaping, painting and other maintenance duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co- workers.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
Inspects and utilizes judgment in determining which cleaning techniques outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
Demonstrated efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by supervisor.
Adheres to all Jengo Facilities appearance standards and always maintains professional dress while working.
Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the assigned area to protect building occupants’ safety and health.
Diligently employs universal precautions when disposing of trash and bio-hazardous materials.
Thoroughly mop and vacuum floors in accordance with established guidelines.
Maintains inventory of parts and supplies for facilities repairs; orders materials as needed.
Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
Assists licensed plumbers, electricians, and HVAC personnel as appropriate.
Performs quality inspections on work completed by other facilities services technicians and vendors.
Prepares and maintains records on all maintenance activities.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Provides project management and oversight for all building maintenance or cleaning vendors.
Provides safety coordination, training and oversight for all building maintenance systems and activities.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Abilities:
- High school education or equivalent
- 2-5 years of working experience in facilities maintenance
- Should possess strong manual dexterity
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to prepare engineering documents, specifications and cost estimates for projects.
- Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to complete routine paperwork.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of facilities services including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utility operations, building maintenance, carpentry and finish work.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to repair and maintain appliances and heating and cooling equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
