Director, Office of Research and Sponsored ProgramsChatham University is seeking a Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. This position works with faculty, staff, and administration to identify potential funding sources and to support efforts in the preparation, submission, and compliance of grants. The Director is Chatham's authorized official for the submission of foundation, corporate, and federal agency grants and serves as institutional liaison with funding agencies. This position will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule with both remote and in-person work on a weekly basis. Duties and Responsibilities:
    Oversees operations, budget, and personnel within the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.Serves as the University's Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) and official signer for externally funded and research-related agreements.Maintains familiarity with and knowledge of program solicitations, federal regulations, and compliance requirements related to grants and award administration and communicates new or revised opportunities and requirements to the campus community.Coordinates with the Business Office to create and maintain communications and funding flow for externally sponsored projects and to ensure compliance with federal and sponsor regulations.Regularly communicates and collaborates with the Office of the President (governmental grants) and Advancement (endowments) to discuss overlapping interests.Consults with faculty to gain familiarity with external funding needs and serves as a mentor in the process of grant writing.Develops and delivers training workshops on proposal development and management to faculty and staff.Maintains a grants management information system used in preparing administrative reports and grant archives.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree or higher and three years or more relevant experience in grants or research administration Proficiency with electronic research administration systems (grants.gov, NSF, Fastlane, etc.)Excellent organizational and management skills, ability to deal with multiple projects and meet deadlines.Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including Excel and Teams.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to lead and work with a team, and problem solve.Skilled in networking, active in a formal or informal community of grants professionals

Salary Range:$68,100-$77,400. 40-hour work week.Exact compensation based on candidate skills and experience.
