About the Internship
Employee & Community Engagement (ECE) is seeking a Summer Intern to support our work in
employee communications, engagement and volunteerism programs and events that cultivate our culture, bring the business narrative and Our Promise to life, maintain our license to operate and inspire employees to advance on our collective mission and enterprise priorities.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on site.
Key Responsibilities
Employee & Community Engagement is looking for an intern to help with the following programs;
- Employee Engagement and Volunteerism
- Futurelab (Gene Academy, Science Garage) volunteer program marketing materials , program team onboarding documents, scholarship event communications and execution
- Support Genentech Gives Back Week engagement program and events
- Provide communications support Genentech Goes to Town (Promos, maps, writing features about businesses)
- Support special employee engagement projects as needed
- Digital Engagement and Storytelling
- Assistance with storyboarding, filming and editing "A Day in the Life" videos for DNA News - our internal storytelling news platform
- Assistance with internal employee and business stories
- Build awareness and usage of our Genentech Community Google Chat Channel
- Team Operations
- Google Shared Drive organization
- Support special team projects as needed
Program Highlights
- Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must have attained a Master's Degree
Required majors: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Hospitality Management
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in Californiais $21.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
