Global Product Strategy Opportunity Assessment
Summary:
The Ionis Global Product Strategy team is looking for an intern to support preliminary clinical and commercial assessments of potential follow-on indications for a late stage development project. As part of our team, the intern will have the chance to dive into one, or more, these disorders to develop a well informed and evidenced based perspective on the clinical and commercial considerations influencing future development decisions for these disorders. The intern’s analyses will feed into the team’s LCM strategy workstream and inform future LCM planning activities. This project provides an intern the opportunity to learn about the core functions driving a commercial stage biotech organization. It also provides a venue to gain valuable first-hand experience collaborating directly with product team cross-functional leads, with specific guidance and support from our commercial and clinical leads.

Responsibilities:
This project will involve conducting an assessment of the global epidemiology, disease course, diagnostic and treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, current pipeline, clinical trials, target audience, and market access dynamics for one or more of the prioritized follow-on opportunities. The intern will have access to a wide array of secondary research reports and databases to assist with the secondary research portion of the project. The intern may also assist in the development and execution of small, qualitative primary research assessments with target healthcare providers to inform and validate secondary research findings. The intern will develop and present a power point presentation to a broad Ionis audience at the conclusion of the project. The intern’s analyses will feed into the team’s LCM strategy workstream and inform future LCM planning activities.
Requirements:
- MUST be currently enrolled in a U.S. Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree Program and not graduating prior to the completion of the Ionis internship
- MUST be pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences, combination of Business and Biological Science is preferred
- MUST be able to begin internship between 6/11 and 6/13/2023
- MUST be able and willing to remain in program through at least 8/16/2023
- MUST be able and willing to commit to a minimum 40-hour work week
- Position is May require travel to HQ in Carlsbad, CA, for specific meetings and/or training in person if needed
