Job Summary:

One of the ways we push health and Human Performance to the next level is through the research conducted by our Human Performance Lab (HPL). From athlete training programs to sleep and recovery programs, from cutting edge wearable technology to hand-held devices, Exos' Human Performance Lab ensures that real people lead the innovation in the field.
The Exos Human Performance Lab Research internship is designed to provide interns the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained through their academic experience in a real-world industry research setting. Throughout the program, HPL data interns will be directly involved with tasks and projects that contribute to the HPL's ongoing research projects.
As a HPL Data Intern, you may:
  • Assist in the collection, processing, cleaning, and analysis of data from HPL studies
  • Utilize statistical tools and software to analyze data and identify patterns and trends
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of databases and data management systems
  • Participate in literature reviews and assist in preparing materials for publication or presentation
  • Prepare visualizations and reports to communicate findings to HPL team members
  • In collaboration with the HPL research team, develop and execute a research project utilizing existing datasets tailored to address HPL's specific needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with HPL team members to achieve operational tasks and meet deadlines

Internship Requirements:
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in an analytic field such as statistics, predictive analytics, data science, engineering, applied mathematics, biomechanics, computer science/technology, information technology, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with programming languages and data analysis tools (e.g., R or Python)
  • Interest in human subjects research and/or wearable technology research
  • High-level understanding and passion for sport and Human Performance
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
  • CITI Certification in Biomedical Foundations preferred; can be completed first week of internship if you do not currently possess
  • Must be in a program accepting course credit in exchange for an internship experience, as this is an unpaid internship

Internship Logistics:
If selected for this internship experience, you will be asked to:
  • Find, secure, and fund your own housing for the duration of the internship
  • Book and fund your travel and relocation (if required) to the location of your internship prior to the start date
  • Fund all food and transportation costs for the duration of your internship
  • Provide your own laptop computer
  • Confirm course credit through school advisor
