- Supervise library spaces so that student behavior supports the library’s academic purpose
- Create a welcoming and inclusive library environment by greeting students and by displaying diverse and culturally responsive book selections
- Encourage students to read for pleasure by guiding them to books that may interest them
- Teaching students, through formal and informal instructional methods, how to successfully navigate the research process
- Oversee book circulation
- Assist the Summer School Office staff with administrative projects as needed
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
- Prior experience working with a diverse student population and demonstrated equity and inclusion mindset. Candidates should be aware of their own identity and biases; candidates actively work to create an inclusive environment.
- A bachelor’s degree, MLIS preferred
- Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Summer School
Summer at Lakeside is currently recruiting for an Upper School Library Assistant. The position will be part time. The dates for employment are June 17 – August 2 with hours of 8 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Library Assistant will be primarily responsible for supervising the library, overseeing book circulation, and assisting the Summer School Office staff with administrative projects as needed.
