Work Arrangement:
Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role:
Within the Product Development Engineering Student Programs, we aim to create an environment where college students can build foundational skills, gain exposure, and gain understanding of our business. We do this by providing engaging co-op assignments, networking, and developmental opportunities.
Upon completion of the program, successful participants are matched to opportunities based on interest and business needs. Positions will be in Southeast Michigan with opportunities in Warren, Milford, or Pontiac, MI.
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in the Kettering University co-op program
2024 High School Graduate or current Kettering University Freshman-Sophomore
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities, or service organizations.

Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Strong interest in General Motors career opportunities
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience
Emerging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed
Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability, and trust
Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric
Student Stipend: GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2024 Student Program.
