Job description

The Role:
This position will be in the RNA Science team of the RNA Science Department and be focused on improving mRNA therapies across various pipelines. This will involve techniques such as tissue culture, transfection, electroporation, live cell imaging, RT-qPCR, Western Blot, and ELISA.
The candidate should be self-motivated and possess the desire to drive a project to completion. Candidate must be flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Bioengineering -related majors are encouraged to apply.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Work on a personal project that directly impacts the progress of Moderna’s mRNA therapeutic platform.
Design, conduct and troubleshoot in vitro/ex vivo/cell-based experiments, independently and/or in collaboration with colleagues.
Learn and perform multiple experimental techniques including tissue culture, cell transfection, electroporation, live cell imaging, RT-qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA and other biochemical assays.
Help maintain multiple cell lines.
Contribute to data analysis and interpretation of study results
Maintain accurate and up-to-date record of experiments in electronic laboratory notebook
Present your work/project(s) at group meetings and at a final presentation session.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Minimum GPA of 3.4
Currently Enrolled Junior or Senior
Must be curious, eager, open to learning, and independent
Experience in tissue culture and cell transfection preferred, but not necessary
