Job Description
Maintenance Mechanics keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in working order.
Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
Much of the time spent is addressing emergency equipment repairs, completing PM’s, assist in complex changeover, and working with other mechanics.
-Electrical knowledge helpful. -Alteration, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities.
-Able to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
-Repairs and lubricate machines and equipment. -Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
-Work involves the use of skilled knowledge to clean, repair or replace various facility components.
-Have some knowledge of compressed air, vacuum, hydraulics, electronic controls, and their systems and related components.
-Capability to help troubleshoots, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on buildings and production equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical systems, machining, welding, plumbing, and carpentry.
-The nature and pace of the work require that an employee in this class be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and be highly ambitious.
-Work may also include reading manuals, blueprints, and schematics to determine repair needs for various equipment.
-Skilled use of a variety of tools; carpentry; plumbing; masonry work; mechanical and electrical repairs; minor welding; and preventative and scheduled maintenance.
Helpful qualifications and capabilities.
-Three plus years in specialty trade such as A/C, Carpentry or Electrical work or equivalent and/or a combination of
-education and experience. -VFD, PLC, and High Voltage (480V) Experience a BIG plus
-Able to work alternate weekends
-Able to manage others.
-Computer and writing skills helpful.

-Determination is not just fixing the breakdown, glitch, or malfunction but maintaining focus to determine the root cause
-Perform monthly tests on all safety systems
-Operate within our preventative and predictive maintenance program
-Determine corrective action necessary to minimize downtime, increase productivity, and maintain continuity of operations.
-Communicate with production operators to ensure changeovers and equipment processes.
-Report and inventory parts used on the off shifts to ensure parts inventory.
-Follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
-Maintain a valid driver's license.
-Ability to plan and organize building maintenance and repair work, read, write and interpret blue prints.
-Take accurate measurements, perform basic math, understand and apply industry regulations, policies and procedures.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks to meet the needs of all staff
-Use of all ladders and lifts to access the building equipment.
-Promptly notifies the appropriate resources (internal and external) in the event major repairs to equipment or facilities are needed and provides accurate communication/documentation to assist in the repair.
-Works with machine vendors to assist in repairing machines and ordering parts.
-Installs and assists in the installation of equipment.
-Promptly and accurately completes forms, records and reports used to document the status of department projects and tasks.
-Assists in developing and carrying out preventive maintenance program.
-Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with other associates.
-Actively participates in and supports teamwork, continuous process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.
-Assist in coordinating, maintaining and communicating preventative maintenance schedules and records
-Maintain perishable tooling, replacement parts, supplies, and safety equipment
Compensation based on experience. Some nights and weekends required on a rotating basis
