Hours: Part-time, 12 months, Monday - Friday
Hambright Elementary - 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Job Summary:
Provide a safe, orderly, sanitary environment, conducive to learning, for all students and faculty.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintain all school buildings, ensuring a clean and orderly condition by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming classrooms, library, hallways, stairs, cafeteria, gymnasium, and office space, according to District standards.
Assist with maintenance projects as needed; perform minor maintenance repairs and/or upkeep such as painting, replacing light bulbs, air conditioner filters and other related maintenance duties
Maintain personal access to the buildings to include having a working knowledge of the building security system; lock/unlock the building, as required; secure all building windows; perform building security check before the end of shift ( night shift ); and report to the Head Custodian any vandalism, safety and security hazards, and major repairs needed.
Perform carpentry duties including furniture assembly and repair.
Maintain floors including stripping, waxing, and refinishing; shampoo rugs and carpets.
Clean snow and debris from sidewalks and parking lots using a snow blower or snowplow; mow lawn, trim shrubbery and perform other landscaping duties as needed or required.
Unload incoming and load outgoing trucks.
Deliver supplies, equipment, and books.
Set-up equipment as required for each event; following the event return the building to school set-up to include moving gymnasium bleachers as required.
Assist and oversee groups using the building as directed by the Building Principal.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma necessary
Knowledge and understanding of various cleaning chemicals is necessary
Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing no more than 80 lbs. Lifting, pulling, pushing up to 125 pounds occasionally.
Must have all required clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Clearance, and IdentoGo FBI Fingerprints through the Department of Education.
Penn Manor SD implements a pre-employment drug urinalysis test that must be completed at LGH Occupational Medicine, 2110 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
