This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic's Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or Medtronic Care Management System businesses.  Currently a part of Medtronic, these businesses  are being transitioned either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or will be merged into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, in approximately 12-15 months your employment will transfer to one of these entities  and you will no longer be employed by Medtronic.

The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.

A Day in the Life

Are you a passionate, progressive, and motivated EMR, device connectivity middleware sales executive looking for a new challenge?  This is an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Monitoring team. Under the direction of the Zone Sales Manager, you will promote and sells PM HealthCast products and services across the zone's customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.

The HealthCast Zone Sales Manager is an individual contributor executive sales role that tasked with leading and supporting Medtronic Patient Monitoring strategy in his/her aligned zone geography for the HealthCast portfolio which includes Medtronic Patient Monitoring remote monitoring, remote/central monitoring, clinical decision support solutions, business model transformation, connectivity to EHR/EMR solutions, and predictive analytics solutions.  The Patient Monitoring division strives to enable earlier diagnosis and enhanced patient outcomes through leveraging our industry leading monitoring, connectivity, and informatics portfolio and unique customer partnerships. With evolving healthcare transformation, the HealthCast portfolio enables clinicians to care for patients remotely and at scale, helping them overcome the many complex challenges in today's healthcare environment.  The growing market requires high quality products and services to deliver safety, reliability, and scalability to our customers.  Effective execution on our HealthCast strategy by this individual contributor will result in business growth that exceeds AOP in both Patient Monitoring and Respiratory Solutions divisions through the proper identification of customer needs and positioning our remote/central monitoring, clinical decision support, business model transformation, connectivity, and predictive analytics solutions. 

 

The Central Zone Sales Manager will be accountable for the growth plan to exceed AOP, zone level strategy and execution through ownership of proactive lead generation, customer needs analysis, sales, service delivery, planning, execution, sales team support, and solution adoption.  This portfolio sales owner will achieve assigned zone financial goals through targeted lead generation, consultative selling activities, understanding market and IDN trends, and accurate opportunity forecasting.  Key responsibilities will include high volumes of lead generation, consistent weekly appointment setting with qualified buyers, pipeline development, deal creation, closing, working with monitoring sales reps to grow our HealthCast footprint at existing and competitive accounts, relationship development with key buyers, implementation and adoption success. This critical team member will provide strategic input and customer learning/intelligence that will help us continue evolving our HealthCast strategy in a way that helps alleviate customer pain points and resonates with customers and the market.  This individual contributor sales leader role will report to the Zone AVP.  While the role will have no direct reports, the Central Zone Sales Manager will be working as part of an aligned team with our Regional Business Managers and Field Sellers to create opportunities that help us execute on our HealthCast strategy aimed at customer success.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Execution 

  • Own aggressive lead generation, prospect outreach, and appointment setting efforts to create sales opportunities to grow

  • Own pipeline growth and effective execution to close new business

  • Exceed assigned zone HealthCast target financial goals

  • Own oversight and validation of accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly zone forecast

  • Maintain zone pipeline 10X assigned quota across aligned regions

  • Directly partner with Regional Business Manager/Sellers/AVP to win

  • Develop/execute Zone Sales strategy via clear targeting and account profiling

  • Understand key customer buying motives and business objectives to create urgency

  • Own development of key customer relationships with IT, Chief Information Officers, Medical Managers, CNOs, Nurse Managers, as well as any other clinical and economic buyers

  • Support Patient Monitoring and Respiratory Solutions, National Accounts, and Strategy Partnerships in closing HEALTHCAST opportunities

Account Management

 Overall accountability for  account satisfaction through sales, service delivery, planning, execution, support and solution adoption

  • Coordinate service delivery with Operations, Sales Engineers, and Professional Services teams

  • Represent client internally and coordinate across functions to implement client solutions, complete projects, and address ongoing service, operational and technical needs

  • Assist Professional Service team with implementation oversight and engage is escalating customer situations

  • Drive organic growth/penetration of existing services into new service areas across account

  • Liase with field sales and clinical team pre/post implementation to ensure customer understanding and achievement of system value and overall competence on solution 

Key MDT Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Provides strategic input and customer learning/intelligence to R&D partners quarterly to support ongoing product development

  • Enhance competitive intelligence by driving increased knowledge of competitive strategies, products and activities and communicate monthly to Marketing.

  • Partner with Marketing to ensure ongoing development of key customer collateral

  • Represent field sales by providing strategic input to Sales Operations and Professional Services teams in support of continued operating optimization contributing to increased revenue

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 7 years of strategic selling or related software/informatics sales experience in the acute hospital care environment

  • Track record of consistent sales performance

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Ability to travel and be flexible with hours of operation

  • Experience with modern software development methodologies, with emphasis on software and hardware architecture, infrastructure design and development and wireless technologies.

  • Strong technical project management and documentation skills.

  • Strong preference for candidates with EMR / EHR and/or medical device connectivity background.

  • Proven ability to understand the hospital technical and social environment and influence the IT domain and clinical domain.

  • Track record of driving results in complex cross-functional environments

  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects concurrently

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial sales structures and processes

  • Management experience preferred; track record of change leadership and coaching skills

  • Sound problem solving skills and high capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain an ethical mindset and conduct business with integrity
