SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Source operates 24/7.
The goal of The Source is to move young people from unstable living situations to safety and self-sufficiency. Through Street Outreach, a Drop-In Center and Overnight Shelter for youth ages 12-24, The Source provides employment and education assistance, short-term shelter, long-term housing navigation, support and inclusivity groups, family coaching services, life-skills development, mental and physical wellness support, and an array of individual and group activities.
Requirements
PROVIDING SUPPORT AT A YOUTH FACILITY MAY LOOK LIKE:

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Contributing and collaborating with a diverse team, and community partners
  • Maintaining timely and objective record keeping, and salesforce data entry
  • Building and maintaining an overall positive energy for youth, staff, and external partners with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Identifying areas of improvement throughout [Chase House] programs, following procedures and suggesting solutions where possible.
  • Assisting in implementation of behavior plans.
  • Routinely applying program expectations through use of established behavior modification plan(s).
  • Participating in and facilitating youth groups.
  • Working with assigned program participants in the role of "sponsor" to promote pro social behavior
  • Practice compassion and empower participants while holding them accountable
  • Maintaining clear professional boundaries.
  • Provide support with intake process as needed.
  • Providing individualized support to youth, including; transportation, crisis intervention using a variety of techniques, advocacy, and assisting with daily living skills.
  • Maintain household safety regarding a variety of household chores and activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Engage in all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Maintaining open communication with resident treatment team, including case workers, probation officers, parents and others involved in residents' case as needed.
  • Actively seek out and attend external trainings to promote your development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • 2 years of college education OR H.S Diploma (or equivalent) and 1 year of equivalent work experience in Human Service fields
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, overnights; and short notice shifts.
  • Commitment to continued education of social justice, especially the intersection of youth homelessness and race, sexuality, gender, ability, and socioeconomics.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Respect confidentiality and maintain dignity and integrity.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccine or are able to receive one within seven weeks of hire
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time while also performing typing duties.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and other strenuous activities.
  • Moving up and down stairs throughout shift

Preferred:
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Prior experience working with youth and/or vulnerable populations
  • Customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license
